Our Mission 24-25
The mission of PS/MS 47Q, The Chris Galas School, is to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to foster a safe and nurturing environment that meets the needs of ALL students, through both social emotional learning and content area learning. We will work together to teach students to take ownership of their own learning through the use of student led activities and productive struggle.
Our Vision 24-25
The vision of PS/MS 47Q, The Chris Galas School, is to create students who are prepared to be independent, productive members of an increasingly diverse, globalized, and complex world.
Instructional Focus 24-25
If we create an environment for students where they are actively engaged both academically and socially-emotionally, in all content areas, then they will make academic growth and begin to close the achievement gap.

Our focus is on providing teachers with opportunities and support to create lessons that include high level questions which will increase deep discussion and promote student engagement, independence, and higher order thinking skills (student agency) to increase achievement in ELA and Math
